The Project
Wilmcote Stores is a busy independent retailer in a village outside Stratford. Here you will find a warm welcome from a vibrant business, which is well connected to its community and committed to delivering the best service and products.
The commitment is not just to the areas of the business people can see. To ensure the shop offered a safe and welcoming environment the new owners wanted to refresh the lighting and understand the condition of the electrics. So they proactively commissioned Black Pear Electrical to produce a condition report on the building’s electrics (EICR).
Our Approach
As a busy hub of the community, it was critical that Black Pear Electrical worked around the shop team and customers to undertake the condition report as efficiently as possible.
The report highlighted some recommendations including; replacing the old fuseboard which gave some concerns about safety and upgrading the earthing via the network provider.
Given the concerns raised, Black Pear Electrical was asked to replace the fuseboard immediately. They also supported and advised the owners on how to get their network provider Western Power to upgrade the earthing which was an important safety aspect. Fitting the new fuseboard was completed in 6 hours, the lighting upgrade and new power points were completed within the 2nd day. This gave peace of mind regarding safety and a sparkling new look to enhance this busy store. All delivered with very minimal disruption to customers or trade.
They were so happy with the work, that 12 months later Black Pear Electrical we asked to upgrade the lighting in the store as part of a refurbishment. They added additional lights to the shop floor, changing some existing lights for LEDs to give a brighter display for customers and lower electricity bills for the shop.
The team worked around the business’s day to day activity to make the changes, understanding that keeping the store open while the work was completed was essential.
